Electrolux dishwashers use iXY alarm codes: i for alarm, X for the family (2 = drain, 3 = leak protection), Y for the specific fault. Older units display only the family (i20); newer units display the full code. A letter B may appear as H.

Electrolux built-in dishwashers (EDSH, EI24ID, EW24ID, EI24CD)
Electrolux 24-inch built-in dishwashers; codes appear as i + family digit + current digit (i20, i30, i5E).
- Electrolux dishwasher alarms use the form iXY: i for alarm, X for the family, Y for the specific fault. Older production showed only the family code (for example i20); newer production shows the complete code.
- A letter B in a code may appear as H on a seven-segment display (iB0 shown as iH0).
- The dishwasher stores the three most recent alarms, readable in service mode.
- The manufacturer's most common causes for i20 start outside the machine: a knockout plug left in a new disposer connection, kinked or clamped drain hoses and incorrect drain installation, then an obstructed pump or sump.
| Code | Meaning | Display |
|---|---|---|
| i10 | Water supply problem during static fill (water tap closed, low pressure, kinked hose, clogged inlet filter, valve not opening) | Shown on display |
| i11 | Water supply problem during refill (dynamic fill) | Shown on display |
| i20 | Draining problem — the drain level is not reached in time | Shown on display |
| i30 | Aqua Control: water detected in the bottom tray (overflow or leak); the drain pump runs | Shown on display |
| i41 | No pressure sensor signal | — |
| i43 | Pressure sensor signal too high | — |
| i44 | Pressure sensor signal too low | — |
| i50 | Wash motor problem family (wash pump short, overcurrent, locked rotor, motor plug or supply faults) | — |
| i54 | Wash pump will not follow / rotor locked (dirt, high load or impeller problem) | — |
| i5E | Drain pump will not follow / rotor locked (dirt or impeller problem) | — |
| i60 | Heating problem family — often stored only in service mode while the cycle continues without heat; not always a failed heater | Stored (service mode) |
| i64 | Heater over-temperature, self-restoring; heater needs descaling — do not replace the heater | Stored (service mode) |
| i6C | Low heat-exchange efficiency; heater needs descaling | Stored (service mode) |
| i69 | Water temperature too high; program terminated | — |
| i70 | Temperature sensor (NTC) value out of range | Stored (service mode) |
| i90 | Configuration problem family (checksums, user interface data) | — |
| iB0 / iH0 | Turbidity sensor problem family; the cycle continues as if the load were heavily soiled | Stored (service mode) |
| iC0 | Communication problem family (user interface, boards) | — |
| iD0 | Wash pump speed (tacho) signal missing | Stored (service mode) |
| iE0 | Spray-arm flow controller does not reach position | Stored (service mode) |
| iF0 | Overfilling detected (total fill time exceeded) | Stored (service mode) |
| iF1 | High water level above the safety level; a drain phase runs | Stored (service mode) |
| EC0 | Unit unresponsive and indicator flashing 12 times: communication error between main board and user interface (shown as EC0 on EDSH4944BS) | Shown on display |
Reading a code safely
- Write down the code exactly, including letters (E5B vs E58).
- Note whether it appeared during a cycle or only after a reset.
- Power-cycle once (unplug or switch the breaker off for a minute). If the same code returns, the condition is still present.
- Do not repeatedly reset an appliance that shows heating, gas or electrical codes.
Online troubleshooting is preliminary guidance, not a diagnosis. Electrolux appliances use different control platforms, sensors and diagnostic logic depending on the model, and several failures can produce the same symptom — internal testing is often needed to identify the actual failed component.
