What makes the Laundry Tower different
- The Laundry Tower has separate washer and dryer controls, each with its own code list and its own last-error recall, so a code must be read together with which half displayed it.
- On the Laundry Tower washer, E5H is the same as E5B (motor control under voltage).
- For E53 on Laundry Tower dryers the manufacturer points to an open in the heating circuit between the terminal block and the heating relay (L2 side on electric, neutral side on gas), and notes it is almost never the main control or motor.
- For a tapping noise on the Laundry Tower, the manufacturer checks that a felt pad under the dryer top panel is present and correctly placed.
Because both halves live in one cabinet, a problem in one can look like a problem in the other — a dryer that trips its thermal protection because the shared vent is restricted, or vibration from an unbalanced washer load that rattles the dryer above. We diagnose the half that shows the code, then confirm the other half is healthy before leaving.
Models covered
The Electrolux Laundry Tower ships as ELTE (electric dryer) and ELTG (gas dryer) in 7300 and 7600 Series versions. We also service conventional Electrolux washer and dryer pairs installed on a stacking kit; for those, see front-load washer repair and dryer repair.
Washer-half problems
- Electrolux washer not drainingWater stays in the drum, the cycle stops, or E21 appears.→
- Electrolux washer won't spinClothes come out soaking wet or the drum never reaches spin speed.→
- Electrolux washer won't start or door won't lockThe washer beeps, shows Close Door / E41 / E42, or never starts.→
- Electrolux washer not filling (E11)The washer fills slowly, not at all, or shows E11.→
- Electrolux washer shaking or walkingThe washer moves across the floor or shakes hard in spin.→
- Electrolux dryer not heatingThe drum turns but the air stays cool, or a heat-related code appears.→
- Electrolux dryer takes too long to dryClothes need extra cycles or come out damp.→
- Electrolux dryer noisySquealing, thumping, rattling or tapping.→
- Electrolux dryer won't startNo display, or it beeps and won't run.→
The washer half uses the same code family as Electrolux front-load washers. One Laundry Tower-specific note: Electrolux tech tip LNTT2531 explains that E5H on the washer control means the same as E5B — motor control under voltage — so the first checks are the household supply under load and the wiring to the unit, then the drive.
Dryer-half problems
- No heat with E53. Electrolux's LNTT235A points to an open in the heating circuit between the terminal block and the heating relay — the L2 side on electric models, the neutral side on gas — and notes it is almost never the main control or the motor.
- EF3 on ELTG gas towers. No gas detected: the gas supply valve is the first thing to confirm.
- Tapping noise. Electrolux's fix is a felt pad under the dryer top panel that must be present and correctly placed (LNTT2412).
- Squeal or thump. Idler pulley and roller tech tips (LNSF2631, LNTT2616, LNTT2618, LNTT2631) all list Laundry Tower models.
Installation matters in Las Vegas homes
Laundry Towers are often tucked into hallway closets with short, tight vent runs. A crushed transition duct or a long run with several elbows starves the dryer of airflow, which shows up as long dry times, an EF1 code, or an open thermal safety device. In hot garages, keep the vent run as short and straight as the installation guide allows.

Estimated repair ranges represent typical repairs under normal service conditions. Your final cost depends on the exact model, the parts required, supplier pricing and availability, what diagnosis finds, and the labor involved. Additional labor may be needed when the appliance has to be pulled out, uninstalled and reinstalled, or when cabinetry, trim, panels or other components must be removed to reach the failed part. Parts prices change with supplier availability, market conditions, shipping and import costs. You receive the final repair price for approval after diagnosis and before any repair work begins. The $75 service call is applied toward an approved repair. Labor is covered by our 90-day labor warranty, and qualifying parts carry the applicable 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Frequently asked questions
Can one half be repaired while the other keeps working?
Usually yes. Each half has its own control, so a washer drain pump or a dryer heater can be replaced without affecting the other half's operation.
Does the whole tower have to be pulled out?
For many washer repairs, no — the drain pump and filter are reached from the front. Dryer belt, roller and heater work usually needs top and front panel removal and room to work; we plan the access with you before starting.
Is a Laundry Tower the same as a "laundry center"?
People use both names. Electrolux calls its single-unit model the Laundry Tower. When you book, choosing "Laundry Center / Stacked Washer-Dryer" covers both the tower and stacked pairs.
