Why the serial number matters
- The serial number matters as much as the model: bulletins and replacement parts are often limited to serial ranges or build dates (for example evaporator fan motors before and after January 1, 2015).
- Refrigerant type is not uniform across Electrolux-built refrigeration products: the manufacturer's refrigerant table shows R134a and R600a in otherwise similar product types depending on size and production location, and tells technicians to check the nomenclature (rating) tag for each unit.
Reading an Electrolux model number
Electrolux model numbers start with E. The next letters usually point to the product line — for example ELFW (front-load washers), ELFE/ELFG (electric/gas dryers), ELTE/ELTG (Laundry Tower), ERFC/ERFG (French-door refrigerators), ECWS/ECWD/ECWM (wall ovens), ECFG/ECFD (ranges), EDSH (dishwashers). Older models start with EI (ICON) or EW (Wave-Touch). The digits and final letters encode size, series and color. Don't drop the last characters — they can separate two generations of the same model.
