Electrolux dryers report two-character codes, shown with a leading E (E53, EF1, EF3). Only a few are displayed during normal use — most are stored. Electrolux tech tips have refined the meaning of some codes, notably E53.

Electrolux 300–700 Series front-load dryers (ELFE electric / ELFG gas)
ELFE (electric) and ELFG (gas) model numbers; Balanced Dry / LuxCare Dry with capacitive moisture sensing on 500/600 Series.
- These dryers control heat with two temperature sensors (NTC1 and NTC2) read by the main board, plus a thermostat and thermal limiter in the heat path.
- F1 (ventilation blocked) troubleshooting starts with the lint filter and the exhaust run all the way to the wall before any part is replaced.
- 500 and 600 Series dryers use a capacitive moisture-sensing assembly; 300 and 400 Series use conventional moisture-sensor bars.
- On ELFG gas dryers, EF3 refers to no gas supply detected; the first check is that the gas supply to the dryer is turned on.

Electrolux LuxCare front-load dryers (EFMG gas / EFME electric)
EFMG (gas) / EFME (electric) LuxCare Dry models.
- For E53 on LuxCare gas dryers, the manufacturer notes the cause is almost never the main control or motor but a wiring or electrical issue in the heating circuit.
- If items rest on the lint filter or the filter pops out, the manufacturer offers a newer sloped lint grill and filter kit for these front-load dryers.
- Service flashes describe a heat-expansion ticking noise between the back panel or rear bulkhead and the heater on certain LuxCare dryers.

Electrolux Laundry Tower (ELTE electric / ELTG gas)
ELTE (electric dryer) / ELTG (gas dryer) single-unit laundry towers with separate washer and dryer controls.
- The Laundry Tower has separate washer and dryer controls, each with its own code list and its own last-error recall, so a code must be read together with which half displayed it.
- On the Laundry Tower washer, E5H is the same as E5B (motor control under voltage).
- For E53 on Laundry Tower dryers the manufacturer points to an open in the heating circuit between the terminal block and the heating relay (L2 side on electric, neutral side on gas), and notes it is almost never the main control or motor.
- For a tapping noise on the Laundry Tower, the manufacturer checks that a felt pad under the dryer top panel is present and correctly placed.

Other Electrolux models
For these families we have not published a code table because the documentation we hold is not specific enough to state meanings reliably. Codes on these models depend on the model and control platform — call us with the code and model number.
- Electrolux Wave-Touch and IQ-Touch front-load dryers (EIED / EIGD / EWED / EWGD / EIMED / EIMGD)
Reading a code safely
- Write down the code exactly, including letters (E5B vs E58).
- Note whether it appeared during a cycle or only after a reset.
- Power-cycle once (unplug or switch the breaker off for a minute). If the same code returns, the condition is still present.
- Do not repeatedly reset an appliance that shows heating, gas or electrical codes.
Online troubleshooting is preliminary guidance, not a diagnosis. Electrolux appliances use different control platforms, sensors and diagnostic logic depending on the model, and several failures can produce the same symptom — internal testing is often needed to identify the actual failed component.
